Sasha Bezuhanova is an activist and philanthropist who contributes to Bulgaria's IT industry.

A former executive of Hewlett- Packard, she is the founder and chairperson of MOVE.BG, a civil platform that finds sustainable solutions via innovation, participation and co-creation.

She has helped to position Bulgaria as an ICT center of global significance, and boosts entrepreneurial culture in Bulgaria and at European level. She is also a strong advocate for women empowerment.

MOVE.BG drives sustainable social impact via innovation and collaboration. It acts as a platform to connect, inspire and accelerate local agents of change to create larger impact. It connects changemakers and provides a space for community engagement, it shapes solutions for sustainable development and it aims to inspire others by showing positive examples of change.

Early stage investing in Bulgaria today:

  • Very vital start up ecosystem with participating angels that are very much committed to supporting early stage ventures into their path to grow and get established on international markets.
  • For the last 5 years quite some good results have been achieved
  • We have about 5-6 hundred start ups, some of them are deep tech start ups
  • About 26% of them only this year have moved into learn machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data.
  • A lot of focus on the fintech industry.
  • There is quite potential also for the investments to find oportunities in Bulgaria.

My goals in Bulgaria

  • To strenghten the angel investment culture in Bulgaria
  • Build relationships between Bulgarian and European angel investment community
  • Implementing best practices learned from other ESIL countries
