TeiaCare secured funding after participating in the ESIL online pitch event

Investor pitches are typically done in person, which obviously entails geographical limitations regarding participation. In order to encourage cross-border investments, the Early Stage Investment Launchpad is organising monthly online pitch events featuring the most promising European startups.

Six online pitch sessions were held in the first half of 2019, in which a total of 35 companies presented their product/service in front of 157 investors.

During this session, each entrepreneur has 6 minutes for pitching through a webcam, and investors can actively participate by sending questions on the live chat.

The activity is proving successful and some companies have already closed a financing agreement after participating in the event.

This is the case of TeiaCare, the first digital assistant for Long-Term Care, who secured a €1M seed round after participating in the ESIL e-pitch. An Italian family office discovered this medtech startup at the pitch session and they decided to complete the investment round, alongside two VC funds from Barcelona and Hong Kong.

“ESIL online e-pitches are useful as they allow fast exposure towards an audience of investors who are already working close to your field,” says Guido Magrin, CEO & Founder of TeiaCare. With the money raised, Guido and his team will ensure customer satisfaction and turn current pilots into fully paying customers.

So far, his experience with business angels has been very positive. “There are some very good angels out there, willing to give not only money but also their time and experience to make your business grow in the early stages.”

The next ESIL epitch will be held on September 25 at 17:00 CET, featuring the most promising startups from Italy and SloveniaRegister now here!

The Early Stage Investing Launchpad is an EU-funded initiative that connects networks of business angels and crowdfunders across Europe.

ESIL delivers a blend of online and offline activities aiming at activating new angels, empowering the active investors, creating new leaders within the BAs community to guide their group of peers in the investments and syndications.

The online activities include the Euroquity matchmaking platform (gathering BAs and other investors); online Pitching Events (to get to know the most promising companies); webinars and access to the Digital Academy (easy and convenient home-based learning).
