Discover selected EIC Pathfinder (TRL 1-3) and EIC Transition (TRL 4-6) projects in this latest ESIL e-Pitching session.
Date: 11 May 2026
Time: 11am to 12:30pm CEST
Location: Online
What will we focus on?
Deep tech — research-based, science-driven solutions with strong technological content and long-term potential.
Within this broad deep-tech frame, we focus on healthcare, with selected projects specifically centered on biotechnology and medical devices.
Objective
Given the early stage of these projects, the objective of the pitches is not only to explore potential investment, but above all to identify opportunities for support along the journey from lab to market.
We aim for these sessions to spark meaningful conversations and collaborations between Business Angels, innovation actors and research teams, helping projects move forward through strategic guidance, partnerships and, where appropriate, future investment.
Who are we looking for?
Most of the projects could still be at an early stage of maturity, and they will benefit from your thoughtful feedback, guidance and support.
For this reason, we are especially interested in:
- Business angels looking to support the presented research teams in navigating their journey to market
- Patient early-stage funds who are open to following projects over time, not just looking for immediate deals
- Innovation actors and ecosystem players who want to engage with deep-tech research teams
Projects
Smartheal
Smart Implant for Magnetic Anastomotic Healing and Leakage Evaluation
SMARTHEAL develops the world’s first smart minimally invasive magnetic implant that combines superior anastomosis healing with real-time sensing of anastomotic leak biomarkers.
PHIRE
Photoacoustic imaging and artificial intelligence-based theranostic approach for cancer
PHIRE detects residual bladder cancer, targeting the root cause of relapse and progression. By enabling earlier and more accurate intervention, PHIRE solution can reduce recurrence and progression by up to 75%, improve the lives of over half a million patients each year, and cut the societal burden of the disease by 60%.
Stealthstent
Polymer-based Stealth Coating of Hemocompatible and Absorbable Stents
Stealthstent is developing next-generation stents with innovative polymer coatings designed to reduce complications. Their approach improves long-term safety and effectiveness in cardiovascular treatments.
TREM2MEDS
Towards the clinical implementation of TREM2 Microglia Engineering for treating DementiaS
TREM2MEDS explores new therapeutic approaches targeting TREM2 pathways in neurodegenerative diseases. Their work aims to unlock more effective treatments for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.+F9
T-FITNESS
Fine-tuning T cell networks of exhaustion by synthetic sensors
T-FITNESS is developing a modular “fatigue sensor” that detects early dysfunction signals and counteracts the transcriptional programs driving T cell failure. Designed for seamless integration into CAR, TCR, and TIL platforms, it aims to enhance T cell efficacy and durability against solid tumours.
NEOVASCULOSTOP
Natural intraocular photoactivation of compounds to fight retinopathies
Neovasculostop develops innovative intraocular therapies using photoactive compounds. Their approach targets vision-threatening diseases such as macular degeneration.
SilkPlatelet
Closing the European gap towards a large scale ex vivo platelet production built upon a silk-based scaffold bioreactor
SilkPlatelet develops bioengineered platelet substitutes to address shortages in transfusion medicine. Their innovation improves availability and safety of life-saving treatments.
